Updates On Cameron · August 24, 2007

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Cameron had his last Umbilical cord stem cell treatment today,Friday,August
24th. I just talked to Melissa and of course she was sleeping as it is 12:18
Saturday morning, August 25th. The eye
doctor in the hospital is going to wait untill Monday morning to do
Cameron's vision test because
cameron has been progressing rapidly. When I talked to Zac before this last
treatment he said,
Cameron is like a little monkey just crawling every where and looking
everywhere. All of you that know Cameron know he didn't crawl before. Now he
also pulls himself up on everything. The nurse
walked into his room with the doctor to look at Cameron. She had some kind
of Crab-Claw pen or
light. Zac said Cameron almost fell of their bed reaching for it, he
couldn't do any of those things before. Thank you God! I also pray they get
home before Melissa has her baby- Baby Kylee Joy!

August 25th

Hi everyone,
I just have to share this with you! I called Zac about 12:30 our time which
is 12:30 in the morning their time, to ask how the vision test went, well
they put the test off till Monday. Zac just called me 10 minutes ago ( it is
5:18pm) he said ,"Here Mom listen to this noise its Cameron continually
trying to climb out of his crib, he is also laughing." Zac told me he hasn't
been back to sleep since I called. I
apologized for waking Cameron. But I also told Zac on the other hand I am
very happy that he can see the bars to grab onto to try and crawl out of his
crib. God Bless  consultant, Kirshner Ross-Vaden and Dr. Mike in China.
Love
Carol

 August 28th

Donna, Dan & I went to the airport to pickup Cameron, Melissa & Zac. The very first thing Donna & I noticed is that Cameron had grown two inches since he left for China. Cameron woke up when got home, he was so alert & trying to look in every direction. Before Cameron had the SC treatments he wouldn't even had tryed to look around, because there was nothing he could see.

Sept. 30th

Cameron sat between Grandma Donna and Grandma Carol in Church. He stood up on his chair and smiled at the man behind him who has talking to him. Cameron looked up and was so intent on looking at the bright lights in the ceiling, as he followed the lights with his eyes, he slowly turned his body in a circle untill he fell off his chair!!!! Thank You God !!!!  Haleluiah !!!!!         After Church Cameron got his picture taken as he reached 1 & 1/2 feet for a cell phone!!!! Again !!!! Thank You God !!! Haleluiah !!!!

Nov.2nd

Cameron saw Dr. Klein for the second time this month. Dr. Klein looked at Cameron's optic nerve. It looks to be pinker, fuller and plumper then just a couple weeks ago. Kirshner is also here today with Zac and melissa. We also have a producer and camera man from Wealth TV filming all of this as they will be making a 1 hour documentary which will air in December in 48 states. After leaving Dr. Klein's office we went to grandma Carol's house where twenty families took turns over a three day period of talking with Kirshner Ross-Vaden about going to China for Stem Cell treatments like Cameron had.

Nov.3rd

Families came to our "Medical awareness in the Park" at Gilcrest Park in Punta Gorda, FL. from California,Missouri, Virginia, New Jersy, Pennsylvania, Georgia & Florida to inquire on the Umbilical Stem Cell treatment which gave sight to two blind children, Rylea and Cameron. Everyone had the opportunity to meet both Cameron and Rylea and the parents. There was a lot of shared information and everyone, including the media left with a feeling of helping these families and many more in the future. As Everyone discussed how we can help each other Wealth TV continued to film everyone for the documentary which will air in December.

 Nov.15

Dawn Barlett told me Rylea's just had a vision test yesturday and her vision has progressed again. Rylea is being fitted for glasses. Thank You God-This is a Miracle.Dawn told me one year ago she prayed that Rylea would one day SEE light, never did she dream the day would come when her daughter would be fitted for glasses to improve the clarity of her vision. I am thankful for Rylea's progress and I pray that Cameron will have the same vision results

Nov 22nd

I sat Cameron on a blanket in the living room in front of the TV to watch "Backyard-agains" he never took his eyes off the TV, after 15 minutes of cartoon I gave Cameron a bottle and laid him down, as soon as I turned my back he sat up to watch TV some more. He use to only be able to listen to the cartoon! I know Cameron could SEE the cartoon from 2 feet, but I am not sure how clear it was to him!

Nov. 25th

Cameron & Kylee were in Church today with Grandma Donna. Thomas & Natalie (Cameron's cousins) were in Church with Grandma Carol. Thomas quitely picked up one of Camerons toys from the diaper bag, Cameron immediately noticed Thomas playing with his toy and reached to grab the toy away from Thomas. Cameron SEE's more all the time

Nov.28th

Rylea Barlett now has eye glasses and she saw her face in the mirror with her new glasses!  GOD HAS BLESSED THEM and I pray he continues to BLESS THEM!

Dec. 19th

Cameron's Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber arrived today.

Jan.1,2008

Cameron was in his hyperbaric oxygen chamber twice and both times he was terrified of the noise.

Jan.9,2008

Cameron was at Shands Hospital's Ophthalmology Dept. at the University of Florida to have his follow up medical test done. We are happy to report that Cameron is progressing. A lot of the doctors have suggested we hold off on the hyperbarics.

March 15,2008

We have been trying to get our copies of all the tests done on Cameron so we could share them with Cameron's Opthalmologist, Dr. Klein. Cameron spent three days at the U , as did Rylea and Jackson.  We are still waiting!

March 30th

Dr. Kaushal from the U of FL. came to my "Awareness in the Park" yet he still is not giving us copies of Cameron's medical reports. It was obvious after Dr. Kaushal spoke  that he has plans of his own and they don't involve helping us!

 May 2008

Cameron's general health progressively keeps getting better. He eats soft table foods and stage 3 baby food. He scoots from room to room and plays with his sister and his toys. Cameron will pull himself up to a standing position, but he doesn't want to walk.

June 20, 2008

Being in a crowd is difficult for Cameron as he has a 90% hearing loss in his right ear. But he loves his music. Cameron will sit in church and clap his hands to the music while the congregation sings.

Cameron's vision, speech and occupational therapists all agree that Cameron has made a lot of progress. The biggest reason for hisa progress is due to the fact that he can see better.

Cameron is a typical two year old, he doesn't like to share toys. Cameron scoot to where ever Kylee is playing and he will take away her toy so he can play with it. If Cameron see's Kylee is sitting on the floor drinking a bottle he will wait until no one is looking and he will scoot over to her and take away her bottle and he will drink it.

August 2008

Cameron had an optic appointment with Dr. Klein.  Dr. Klein played a game of follow the object with your eyes, Cameron loved the game and laughed as Dr. Klein talked to him. Dr. Klein picked up a bottle of dialtion drops from a counter eight feet away from Cameron. Cameron was watching Dr. Klein the whole time, as soon as Dr. Klein had the drops in his hand Cameron started to scream. (Cameron has had his eyes dialated many times and he hates it) This bottle is only two inches tall!

 September 2008

Cameron was fitted with his "electric blue hearing aid" The drastic change in muffled hearing in his right ear to normal or loud hearing was a huge challenge for this two year old. Ultimately Cameron pulled it out of his ear and broke it.  we will try another hearing aid  in six months.

Cameron has shown great progress after four sessions of "Hippo" Therapy(case studies have shown that the gait of a horse is similar to that of humans) Cameron is now standing up and walking around things he can hold on to. He will walk now as long as you hold his hand!

November 27, 2008

Cameron was not feeling well from the flu. He has Hypoglycemia and he had a seizure. Cameron, Zac and Melissa all spent Thanksgiving day and the next four days in All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. Cameron is now home and doing great.

December 4, 2008

Today is Cameron's first day of school.  I will let everyone know how well he liked it.

Sorry for the adsence,  Cameron is a happy, healthy, growing little boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 November 4, 2009

Cameron has been going to school and loves it. Cameron is walking very well on his own. On his school playground their is a slide, Cameron loves to climb the ladder and slide down the slide unassisted. Cameron plays with his two year old sister, Kylee. Cameron also has a baby brother, Carter who will be 1 year old in December.

On October 3, 2009

Cameron and Melissa participated in the Stem Cell Awareness in Springfield, Missouri.  Melissa walked up to the podium to speak, Cameron walked by her side unassisted. As Melissa neared the podium Cameron saw the film projector and walked over to it to play with it. You can watch a short video of Melissa and Cameron at the MO. awareness and you can see the progress Cameron has made first hand. Go to "Melissa & Cameron"    http://www.youtube.com/user/carolptrsn

Cameron can see good enough to see the rungs of the ladder on the pre-school slide as he climbs the ladder and slides down the slide unasisted. He can also tell you the names of several of his class mates.
