The difference in Cameron's health before and after Umbilical Cord Stem Cell treatments · March 01, 2008

People Continually email me and ask me! "What is the difference in Cameron's health before and after his SC treatments?"

March 1, 2008

Cameron was blind, but he also had many other health problems.  Cameron refused to eat solid foods. He only drank from a bottle and very rarely did he ever finish an 8 ounce bottle.

Cameron's Blood Sugar was very difficult to regulate.

6 months post- SC treatment

After Cameron's four Umbilical Cord Stem Cell treatments he now can SEE between 3 & 3 1/2 feet, it is difficult to know for sure as he doesn't talk enough to tell us.  Cameron will sit on his little chair two feet in front of the TV and watch his favorite cartoon "the Backyard Agans."

Cameron's general health has improved a great deal. He now eats his baby food off a spoon. He no longer just lays on the floor. Now he will sit up and pull himself up to a standing position. He doesn't walk or crawl but he will scoot from room to room.

Being in a crowd is difficult for Cameron as he has a ninety percent hearing loss in his right ear. But he loves music.

Last Sunday in church the congregation was singing a hymn and clapping their hands. Cameron was clapping his hands along with everyone else and he sang: mom mom mom mom mom................

Cameron's Vision, Speech and Occupational therapists have all noticed that Cameron SEE's pretty well. When they let Cameron pick an object and then they will try to hide the object among similar but different objects, Cameron will pick the right one every time.

For some strange reason Cameron likes to do the crab walk around the house, but that is good as it strenghtens muscles.

Cameron is a typical little two year old, he doesn't like to share his toys with his little sister. Kylee can quietly crawl over to Cameron's toys and the very second she touches one he will get mad at her.

Cameron is showing great progress after four sessions of "Hippo" Therapy.(case studies have shown that the gait of a horse is very similar to that of humans.) Cameron is standing up all the time now and is walking around everything, he will hold your hand and walk.

Cameron was fitted with a hearing aid due to the loss of hearing in his right ear. It was extremely challenging to keep Cameron from pulling it out of his ear. Ultimately Cameron pulled it out and broke it. This is a difficult consept for a toddler!

Cameron can SEE his toys from a eight foot distance and go get them.

Cameron sat in my lap in the examination chair while Dr. Klein played with Cameron encouraging him to follow the troll doll with his eyes. Cameron laughed and reached for the troll continually. Dr. Klein while still playing with Cameron quickly grabbed the little bottle of dilation drops from a counter 10 feet in front of Cameron. The very second Cameron saw Dr. Klein picked up the drops, he started to scream as he put his hands over his eyes. Dr. Klein and I both looked at each other in amazement. Dr. Klein stated, "You know he saw the bottle of drops as soon as I picked it up, the counter is 10 feet from the examination chair!"
Cameron can SEE clearly enough at 10 feet to recognize a little two inch tall bottle of dilation drops.

Cameron has reached a plateau. We think his sight improvements have stopped. He is still able to SEE aprox. 10 feet. Cameron runs, climbs the pre-school slide and slides down unasissted at his school. Cameron feeds himself from a spoon, he is a finicky eater, given a variety of soft foods on his plate he will only eat the ones he likes.

Melissa and Cameron were guest speakers at a Stem Cell Awareness in Springfield, MO.  As Melissa walked toward the podium Cameron walked behind her, as he walked past the projector he decided to stop and play with it (Melissa had continued to the podium) the audiance was amazed by this little boy who use to be blind.
While we were at the hotel Cameron was constantly walking off exploring the halls with anyone who would go with him.

Christmas 2009

We took Cameron to the play Alice in Wonderland. Caneron was fascinated having his picture taken with Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum, he kept staring at the facial paint the actors wore.

Cameron is learning to swim. In the pool Cameron will kick his feet and paddle his arms, a very good attempt. While the rest of us were playing pool volley ball, Cameron was floating around the pool, when he came to the net he would lift it up, duck his head and float under the net. Cameron loves to sit on the steps in the pool and through the ball to you, when you catch it he laughs and then he throws it back to you.
